This is not entirely applicable, but it is a favorite
moment from SCHINDLER'S LIST.  Schindler is in his
bedroom listening to Billie Holiday sing "God Bless
the Child" at the height of the war--the scene says
so much about how defiant he is in a conformist
world.  I believe he makes other references to
smuggling in good jazz.
