Film/Video Production
The School of Image Arts at Ryerson Polytechnic University invites
applications for a tenure-track position in independent film/video
production. The applicant should have demonstrated teaching ability and
significant creative and technical expertise in the field. The ability to
teach critical studies, history and theory would be an advantage.
Preference will be given to applicants who have a relevant graduate degree
(MFA/Ph.D.) and a record of excellence in a range of scholarly, creative
and/or critical activities.
At present, the School of Image Arts has a full-time faculty of twenty, an
additional twenty part time and sessional instructors, and an undergraduate
enrollment of 650 students. It offers a four year Bachelor of Applied Arts
degree with options in Film Studies, Photography Studies and New Media,
following a common foundation year. Planning is currently underway for the
development of new graduate programs in addition to the Schoolıs
established participation in the Universityıs existing graduate
initiatives. Incoming faculty may be expected to contribute to these new
programs.
Appointments will commence August 1, 1999. This position is contingent
upon final budgetary authorization. Applicants should send a curriculum
