We're in the process of moving Screen-L from one computer to another here
at the University of Alabama.

If all goes according to plan, Screen-L subscribers should be automatically
shifted over. The address you use to send Screen-L messages will change,
but the old address will function for some time after the move. More on
that as the actual move approaches--probably in early November.

Most of Screen-L's services will remain the same, but the move should make
a substantial improvement to our message archive. The new archive will
work from a Web interface (unlike our old Gopher server) and will have a
way-cool search device.

This moving process, however, has temporarily disabled the old archives.

For now, those who have used the archives to keep up with the discussion
can read Screen-L's Usenet newsgroup: bit.listserv.Screen-L .
Unfortunately, this newsgroup lags behind the e-mail discussion and is a
bit erratic.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

P.S. For you gearheads out there: We're moving from a VM machine (UA1VM,
UA's original BITNET mainframe) to a Unix machine (bama.ua.edu). Our
list-serving software will remain Lsoft's LISTSERV--the Unix version of
which is much more powerful than its VM version.
