SOCIETY FOR ANIMATION STUDIES
CONFERENCE UPDATE
 
The 10th Annual Society for Animation Studies Conference will be held at
Chapman University, in Orange, California, 6-16 August 1998.  This mailing
provides a general schedule and a list of presentations accepted from the
early call for papers submissions.
 
The final deadline for presentation proposals is 15 January 1998.  If you
wish to present a paper, screening or roundtable discussion, please send
your proposal to the Conference Organizer, Maureen Furniss, by that date.
If you would like to remain on the mailing list, but do not wish to submit
a proposal, please notify her by May 1.
 
This year's conference theme is "In the Beginning...," placing a focus on
the way in which individuals and institutions got started. Send a 25-50
word summary of the presentation and a 250-500 word abstract to Maureen
Furniss, School of Film and Television, Chapman University, 333 N. Glassell
