The classic example of an escape tunnel in film is the one in the movie _The
Great Escape_ .
Of course, the TV series _Hogan's Heroes_ also had an escape tunnel, and, in
_The Shawshank
Redemption_, he builds a tunnel using VERY limited resources (a geologist's
pick, if I'm
not mistaken).
A tunnel similar to your mythic one in GA is the one that is supposed to be
under the White House in
DC, as depicted in _Dave_ -- and probably in some other movies that I can't
remember right now .
