I submitted this yesterday. It was approved it seems, but I got a rejection
 notice
and the request to re-submit.
 
 
You might want to look at -Consumer Culture and TV Programming- by Robin
Anderson (Westview Press). To quote part of the back cover enconmium:
"The evaporation of the boundary between advertising and programming content . .
 . ."  Just got the book. so can't tell you much more, but seems relevant
