Subject: Film Project

Hello. My friend Rebecca and I are two students enrolled in a
class on women and popular culture in the fifties. For our final
project, we would like to research movies that were made in the fifties
and remade in the nineties, specifically focussing on evolving
constructions of femininity. We would greatly appreciate any information on:
        1. particular fifties films that were redone in the nineties
        2. books relating to gender construction in the fifties and nineties
        3. sources on film theory as applicable to the question of remakes
        4. additional comments or observations
Thank you very much for your time. Please respond directly to me, if possible,
since I am not on the Screen List. My e-mail address is

                                        Sincerely,
                                        Wendy amsellem
