It's late enough at night and I'm tired enough not to offer opinions
of my own.  If you're interested, and if you have access to back
issues of the Village Voice, however, Amy Taubin (who I believe is
preparing the BFI Classics book on the film) published a think-piece
a couple of months ago, when Film Forum was running the new print of
Taxi Driver.
