I agree regarding the ending of Beauty and the Beast; the preference of
the Beast over Avenant has nothing to do with sexuality but rather with
the "beauty" of the character.  The Beast is a loving, feeling character;
Avenant is selfish, egotistical, in short -- not lovable.  The point of
the story, whatever version (including King Kong) has more to do with the
kind of character that generates human relationships than with pure
sexuality.  A lot of men are physically "sexy" until they open their
mouth and strut their stuff!  If they didn't keep a "little boy", cuddly
side, we wouldn't put up with the strut.  The Beast doesn't strut for
Beauty; in her presence he is the "little boy" and cuddly; Avenant ONLY
struts.  Again, that's not a scientific statement, but rather a cliched
one known to most women.
