Many of you are (I hope) planning to attend the 1996 Narrative Conference,
April 25-28 in Columbus.  Others may still be considering their spring
commitments.  To help whet your appetite (or to help plan your spring reading),
here is a list of some of the topics/works that will be discussed at the
conference.
 
At the conference, you will find panels dedicated to the following authors:
 
Henry James (Princess Cassamassima, The American, The Ambassadors)
 
Toni Morrison: a panel on Beloved, a panel on "Recitatif"
 
Joseph Conrad ("The Secret Sharer," Tales of Unrest, Lord Jim)

From Silent Comedy to African Cinema:  Among the films that will be discussed
at the conference are: Buster Keaton films, Show Boat (1951), Raising Arizona,
Shadowlands, Forrest Gump, Aladdin, The Piano, Pulp Fiction,The Scarlet Letter,
Savage Nights, Saura's Carmen, Bakaba's Les Guerisseurs and films by Ousmane
Sembene.
