U.S. slum kids would probably be viewed as menacing to a mainstream MTV
audience, you know, crackheads armed to the teeth, whereas Brazilians might
be perceived as both cute and bathetic. Its difficult to know where this
idea (to shoot in Brazil) is coming from: Jackson or Lee. Some sort of
World Beat motif?
 
In any case Jackson's motives vis a vis kids is somewhat under a cloud, to
put it mildly.
