A (hopefully) quick question.
I've been doing some research off and on for the past couple of years
on a NY nightclub performer of the 30's and 40's, Dwight Fiske. My
eyes almost popped out of my head a little while ago when "Adam's
Rib", the comedy with Tracey and Hepburn, was rerun on NC public TV.
I hadn't realized it before, but the charcter (who's name escapes me)
that's a friend of Hepburn -- the guy who sings and does commentary
on their "home movies" -- seemed to be doing Fiske's routine.
I'm curious if Fiske might have been considered for a role in the
film and where some archival materials on the production (MGM?) might
be located. Come to think of it, there was one article on Fiske in
Time magazine, I believe, some months before the film was released --
it was a kind of human interest piece, the kind of fluff that a good
studio publicity agent might arrange for.
Thanks.
Randy
