Now that I think of it, I recall an old MGM(?) musical about an opera
singer (possibly a biofilm).  At one point in the film she has some sort
of medical problem with her voice and is not allowed to speak for several
months.  So there is a brief section of the film where she is mute.  The
singer was Katheryn Grayson.
