a really interestiung question, not only for the specific answers it might
elicit but because it foregrounds in a dramatic and visible way [pun very
much intended] a major theoretical issue in cinematic [of visual] narration and
focuses our attention on the apparent "reliability" of visal evidence . . .
 
 . . . i hope the answers and comments are kept public rather than addressed
