                The 21th annual conference on
                    literature and film
           "Genre and Gender in Film and Literature"
 
Time :      January 25-27, 1996.
Location:   Turnbull Conference Center, Tallahassee, Florida
 
The Conference theme: Invites discussion on both the traditional and
contemporary concepts of genre and gender and their effects on
literary and cinematic texts, authors, directors producers, actors,
readers and viewers.
 
Possible topics for individual papers and/or seminars:
New definitions of genre and gender
Teaching concepts of genre and gender
Positive and negative aspects of genre and gender
Genre, gender, and ethics
Literary sexuality
Eroticism vs. pronography
Creative writing
Poetry vs. prose
Genre, gender, and politics
Modernism/postmodernism
Humor and genre/gender
Foucault
 
Abstracts of papers (about 250 words) and proposals for seminars and
workshops (specifying participants and titles of presentations) must
be submitted by Oct. 6, 1995.
