Subject: APPARITIONS IN THE APERTURE:
BECOMING VISIBLE, COMING VISIBLY, UN-BECOMING VISIBILITY

College Art Association to be held February 21-24, 1996
Boston, MA USA

Becoming visible, coming visibly, making "lesbianism," "lesbians,"
or oneself as a "lesbian" visible through the use of photography,
film, or video are fraught projects. This session will consider
departures from stereotypes and the legislation of identity,
identification, desire, and/or fantasy; that is, practices and
techniques for "un-becoming visibility."
