The Editors of The Velvet Light Trap at the University of Texas have
extended their deadline for papers on "New Hollywood."  The new deadline
is March 10, 1995.
 
We are seeking papers for an issue devoted to aspects of Hollywood in the
wake of the Paramount Decree into the era of the blockbuster and beyond.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
 
Economics:      new sources of money, new financial players, changing
                notions of ancillary markets, the effect of television,
                cable and the VCR, and new distribution and marketing
                strategies, such as tie-ins and collateral sales.
 
Participants:   the impact of new types of stars, actors as directors/
                producers, agents as dealmakers, film schools and their
                graduates.
 
Technology:     special effects, new sound systems, the steadicam, etc.
