        Personally, I liked the experience of having screen-l moderated.
The purpose of screen-l is clearly stated in the "welcome aboard"
message I (and everyone else) received when we subscribed, and yet we
have all seen messages that didn't fit (even closely) the parameters
of the list.
        Moderation also helps screen out unneeded messages that
periodically do get posted to listservs by lunkheads.  On unmoderated
lists I have received email chain letters, unsoliceted junk mail, etc.
        So, I for one have had no problems with moderation, and welcome
the continuation of moderation.
