Off the top of my head, here are two instances of films influencing reality:
 
1 - John Hinckley's attempt to assassinate Ronald Reagan ("Taxi Driver")
 
2 - A number of (absurd) copy-cats who imitated a scene in "The Program" by
prostrating themselves in the middle of busy roads -- some of these guys were
killed, so Disney edited out the scene.
