I've attended the Cannes Film Festival on and off for many years
now and I have a few comments about the gathering. I suppose you can say
that Cannes is "seasoned" and has a long history to its credit. I
understand that it was first suggested as a way to fill the resort hotels
during the slack part of the tourist season. Of the main selling markets
in the world, Cannes is probably the most important. (I'm including AFM
in Los Angeles, MIFED in Milan in this group.) Cannes is the most fun of
the main markets...MIFED and AFM are strictly business.
