Charles,
'Hedd Wyn' was screened on SBS television in Sydney on 10.4.94 and the
following description appeared in their program schedule:

'Based on what has become one of Wales' most potent modern myths and
nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in this year's Academy Awards,
this is the story of Hedd Wyn - the bardic name of handsome farmer's son
Ellis Evans. A talented poet, he dreams of winning his country's most
coveted literary prize but his dreams are shattered by the advent of the
Great War. A moving anthem for doomed youth, Hedd Wyn also carries a
strong message of hope amidst the waste and horror of war. Directed by
Paul Turner and starring Huw Garmon, Sue Roderick and Judith Humphreys.'

Has anyone seen the Welsh language film "Hedd Wyn," which was nominated for a
best foreign-language film Oscar this year? If so, could you supply me with a
plot synopsis and any production information you might have? It's apparently
not yet been released in the U.S.

Thanks,
Charles Matthews
