Pam,
Here in Northern Kentucky, you can't avoid the talk connected to a small
italian restaurant called "Popilio's." Several scenes from RAINMAN were shot
there. (The one with the toothpicks) The place is crawling with memorabilia,
photos, characitures, etc. To the point of excess. Nothing else stands out
except for this place. Newport became famous and now several other films are
scheduled to be shot there.
 
Five minutes north in Cincinnati, there's a section of town called
"Over-the-Rhine." It resembles old German architecture and lots of stuff gets
shot there as well.
