                CALL FOR PAPERS

For an issue of _Concerns_ (a publication in the U.S. of the Women's Caucus
of the Modern Languages) focusing on women's involvement with the
development of film studies as an academic discipline.

Contributions might consider, e.g., the status of women in the profession;
women's influence on the research and teaching interests (and practices) of
the discipline; generational issues that have affected women's status in
the discipline; the effect on women of the decrease within the discipline
simultaneously of jobs and of interest in women's issues; and so forth.

At present there is no deadline.

Also, if anyone is currently working on essay-length pieces to do with
women's involvement in film or TV production, please contact me.
(Has anyone, for example, done research on WIFT?)

Please pass this message on.
