There is another viewpoint out there is terms of fictional portrayals --
a TV movie entitled "Men Don"t Tell." I believe the movie originally
aired on ABC in 1993, and was repeated about a month ago. The film
stars Peter Strauss and Judith Light. If nothing else, it does deal
with the social prohibitions about why "men don't tell." There is a
scene in there about the Peter Strauss character calling a shelter,
and being dismissed. I wonder how close to reality that would be?
