Charlotte Innis, who is compiling information for "Lesbians and Gay Men: A
Guide for Entertainment Industry Professionals" (a publication of the Gay
and Lesbian Aliance Against Defamation) is searching for statistics on (1)
theater box office figures or any other figures which show the success of
plays with gay and lesbian themes or characters and (2) film box office
totals (and video rental figures) for films with gay and lesbian themes or
characters. She has an extensive list she'd be willing to forward through
me (she doesn't have access to the Internet or e-mail).

The idea is to present the film and television industries with statistics
that suggest, contrary to right-wing claims, that gay and lesbian-themed
projects and characters are successful in terms pf viewership, and,
therefore, economically feasible. Does anyone have any of the stats.
requested or know how to get them? Charlotte would be especially
appreciative if those interested help her conduct the research--she's been
volunteering her services for many months already. If interested in
helping, you would receive acknowledgment in the Guide.

You can forward responses to me at [log in to unmask] or call Charlotte at
(213) 665-8022 in Los Angeles.

Thanks for any help provided.
