Could someone tell me what "Disney is coming to northern Virginia"?
Frightening!
Has anyone read Mattleart's (sp?) "How to read Donald Duck"? Disney
is frightening in any guise, particularly as an example of late
capitalism seeping to fill the cracks of children's fantasy. I'd like
to see a psychoanalytics of the cartoon (Mattleart does an excellent
Marxist analysis), explaining just what produces its highly
unproblematic power. To this day I live in fear of these monstrous
animals.
