Subject: The National Film Registry
Questions arose last week about the National Film Registry, and Jeremy asked for
my input, since I am with the Motion Picture Division of the Library of
Congress. Like many of you, I was behind on my email as I busily prepared for
the SCS conference (only to be snowed out). Hence, my apologies for the delay in
getting this and the following separate fact list about the registry out to
subscribers; I also wanted to be meticulous about accuracy. Hopefully these two
postings will answer most questions. Should other queries remain, please contact
Steve Legget, also of the Motion Picture Division, who is coordinator of
Registry activities. His telephone number is 202-707-5912.

The procedure for making nominations is given at the end of this posting. All
nominations for the Registry must be submitted by mail; unfortunately, it is not
possible to send suggestions via email.
