Sorry to clutter the list, but this was an interesting sidelight:
  One of our sports/fitness nuts points out that if you want to truly injure
a skater, you don't hit her kneecap, you hit her knee from the side. The
same amount of force does incredible damage (I'm told) in a side blow. Of
course, seeing the accused attacker on TV tells me a lot about the quality
of the attach strategy. SO: TV was good for something after all.
