As a good general guide to proposal as well as scriptwriting
for documentaries, you might consult Alan Rosenthal's book
"Writing, Directing, and Producing Documentary Films,"
which is published by Southern Illinois University Press.
I have found Rosenthal's recommendations quite helpful and
so have my students.
