John Hnahardt's anthology "Video Culture" has 5 introductory essays that
are classics (Benjamin, Brecht, Althusser, Enzensberger, Baudrillard).
It's not for a main text (unless you are focussing on video), but gets
students (and teachers) thinking about Theory and Practice...
