Jeremy: I prefer an unmoderated list, but I have to admit that some of
the discussion lately has gone pretty far afield of the purpose of the
list. For example, the insidious effects of pc (in some people's opinion)
in general vs. the effects of pc on films. I don't have a problem with
the latter, obviously, but I don't really want to read a general pc debate
on screen-l. I think that people who want to pursue these issues should
do so personally. The same with thank you notes to individuals. I would
rather they go to the individual than to the list. I'm not sure Jeremy
would want to control these kinds of things anyway, so maybe if we just
monitor our own postings a little, that would be the best solution.
