check out a book entitled NAKED HOLLYWOOD: MONEY AND POWER IN THE MOVIES
TODAY by Nicholas Kent. It's based on a BBC series about Hollywood and
although it doesn't aim at talking about Apocalypse Now on a whole, it
does mention many of the problems Coppola had in making it, the money
spent over budget, props being destroyed or blown away by the typhoons, and
how the Phillipine Natives were unwilling to partake in the picture but
would help themselves to the props and food.
