Dear Jon:
My files are elsewhere, so I can't give you exact details. But here goes.

I know that Jonathan Rosenbaum published an excellent article on Ruiz and
WHALE, perhaps in Sight and Sound. It included something of a filmography.
Also, ArtPress, a magazine published in Paris, published a special issue
on Ruiz in the mid-eighties, as did Cahiers du cinema, which should be
pretty easy to track down. Both have excellent material on him. THE GOLDEN
BOAT was reviewed in Variety, The New York Times, and a slew of other
places, and was the subject of a cover story in The Independent as well as
feature coverage in The Village Voice and Film Comment. It also received a
great deal of attention in Spainand, oddly enough, Sweden.

I hope this is of help.
