While not directly related to the notion of tourist produced imagery, I might
suggest Bill Nichol's book IDEOLOGY AND THE IMAGE as a point of departure; also
Trinh T. Minh-ha's cross-cultural investigations (in writing and in her films)
are fascinating and instructive (if a bit dense at times).
