HISTORIANS:
I need help identifying historical photos. I have 2 photos which are
production stills taken on the set of a German silent film, possibly done
at Universal's studio in the mid to late 20s. Picture 1: the asst.
cinematographer is Laslo Benedek. The cameraman behind the tripod cam
is clearly pictured but I don't recognize him. The actor is posed in
a pompous profile: a portly and chubby-faced, middle-aged man with
goatee and bulbous nose. Picture 2: a large papermache mockup of the
actor's face with eyes closed (as if a deathmask maybe); dancing on top
of the nose of the oversized mockup is a yound woman, short brunette
hair; completely nude.
If you think you might me able to help identify the film or
the actor or the cameraman from a German studio silent film, I can
mail/fax you a xerox of these 2 stills.
