I just joined Screen-L, and decided to post this query I put on Cinema-L.
Greetings to all. -- Rick Francis

I came across reference to an article which sounds very interesting.
No bibliography info though! I've looked through all sorts of
indexes, and checked bibliographies of a bunch o' books and can't
find it. Here's what I know:

Author: Umberto Barbaro
Subject: French pre-war cinema (WWII)
Date: 1942

That's it. Language could be French, but is probably Italian.
Probably in a journal. If anyone could see if Barbaro has entries
in bibliographies of French cinema books, I'd be mighty beholden.

Oh--our library has a couple of books by Barbaro, but the piece
isn't collected in them, and I didn't see where he cited his
own piece either...
