Wunderkinder.

Wore similar flat caps with bills in press photos at around the same age. A
stylish touch in one, a codable device unavoidably pointing back in the other.

born ten years apart, one before JFK's death, one after Watergate,
both after Breathless. (The younger was paired with one of Godard's recent
videos at the last SF Film Festival.)

One started out acting, only after the requisite success was allowed to direct.
The other was directing and acting, all the non-acting acting, from the start.

One, armful of trophies, future looking bright, Hollywood's coddling resources
on call, for the making of "enh..." safe pictures. Other, never done any
location shooting cause "well, see you have to plug it into the wall and I
haven't figured out how to get it out of the house yet." Reacts to Hollywood
with revulsion, "even the Sundance Festival scared me." Moving to Chicago,
plans of being a waitress, "maybe going to school." Not Yale, doubtless.

One kept her lesbianism out of the public, almost. The other's coming out +
building of identity has been her sole subject.

Sexy Sadie, you broke the rules.
