I'm not sure I can answer the first question, as I've never really
noticed anything significantly indecent in the skits.  All I can say is
that the movie's humor is as sophomoric as the SNL skits, and that I
found it quite funny.  I wouldn't see any problem unless your loved one
is REALLY uptight.
 
Second, it takes place today, not in the 70s (could you even have a
cable access show in 1975?).  However, the Mirthmobile is an AMC
Pacer, the best car ever made...well, besides the AMC Gremlin,
anyway.
