Cal Pryluck's comments on how to think about beginning a career
in screenwriting are absolutely on the mark, and are as humane a
set of questions and suggestions as I can imagine. We can spend
immense amounts of time discussing "best film school" or "film school
versus other options" but drive, ambition, single-minded pursuit,
what James Agee called "ruthless creativity" are preconditions.
