The School of Advanced Studies (SAS, https://sas.utmn.ru/en/) invites applicants for two visiting professor positions in Film and Media Studies for the 2020-2021 academic year.

We are seeking specialists with advanced degrees to teach in courses in our BA major in Film and Media Studies. Candidates will contribute to teaching such courses as: Media: Forms & Contexts, Transmedia Storytelling, Avant-Garde Media, and Digital Humanities & Contemporary Culture. They will also offer elective courses related to their research interests and supervise undergraduate research projects.

SAS is a liberal arts and sciences honors college within the University of Tyumen (Siberia, Russia) that currently employs full-time faculty from 12 countries. SAS features small seminar-style classes (no more than 20 students) and a creative, intellectually engaged student body. The official language of SAS is English, so no knowledge of Russian is required.

While academic year appointments are preferred, SAS will consider appointments for as short as two months. The teaching load can vary based on the applicant’s preferences. Compensation is commensurate with the teaching load and experience.

Visiting professors are invited (but not required) to participate in SAS’s vibrant interdisciplinary research environment. As we are seeking to build our popular Film and Media major, these visiting positions may lead to more permanent research and teaching employment. More information on the city of Tyumen is available at https://sas.utmn.ru/en/location-en/.

Interviews will be conducted via Skype. Please send a CV, two letters of reference (to be sent separately), and a cover letter describing your background and teaching experience in the area of film and media studies to: [log in to unmask] Interviews will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
