Professor in Narrative Film and Television Production

The University of Notre Dame’s Department of Film, Television, and Theatre is seeking a professor in narrative film and television production. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in screenwriting and visual storytelling. Additional areas of specialization might include producing, directing, editing, and cinematography. The successful candidate must have an MFA in Film/Television Production or significant industry experience. Teaching experience preferred.

We particularly welcome applicants who will continue the department’s integration of production and critical studies and contribute to the department’s commitment to global perspectives.

The Search Committee’s deliberations will begin on October 31, 2017. The appointment begins Tuesday, August 28, 2018. The University is on the semester system.

The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (see: http://ftt.nd.edu <http://ftt.nd.edu/>/) is a dynamic department with twenty-two regular faculty. Our liberal arts curriculum presents a broad exposure to screen cultures as an intellectual endeavor as well as an aesthetic and practical one, and offers courses that appeal to a wide range of students, including non- majors. The Department resides in the Marie P. DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, dedicated in 2004 (see http://performingarts.nd.edu/ <http://performingarts.nd.edu/>).
