DEADLINE EXTENDED: CFP: Robin Williams: Essays on the Man and the  
Movies (contracted collection) (5/15/2016)
With his untimely passing in 2014, Robin Williams left behind a huge  
body of film work, from comedies to dramas, to satire, to animation  
and voice-over work.
Scholarly essays are sought for a collection on the filmic work and  
artistry of Robin Williams. All films and theoretical approaches  
welcome.
Possible topics may include but are not limited to (Listed films are  
merely suggestions):
?	Comedies
?	Dramas
?	Good Will Hunting
?	Youth Culture (Jack, Jumanji, Hook, Toys, Popeye etc.)
?	Medical Narratives/Disability (Patch Adams, Awakenings, House of D)
?	Queer/cross-dressing (Mrs. Doubtfire, The Birdcage, Boulevard, The  
Night Crawler)
?	Sci-Fi/Afterlife (Bicentennial Man, The Final Cut, A.I., What Dreams  
May Come)
?	Collaborations with Barry Levinson (Good Morning Vietnam, Man of the  
Year, Toys)
?	Villainy and other approaches to One Hour Photo
?	Animation (Aladdin, etc.)
?	Dead Poet?s Society
?	Politics/History (Man of the Year, Moscow on the Hudson, Good  
Morning, Vietnam, Jakob the Liar, etc.)

?	Williams and Fatherhood/Father Figure, broadly conceived: (Father?s  
Day, Mrs. Doubtfire, etc.)

Book is under contract! Deadlines for drafts etc. will be FIRM! Timely  
communication and responses will be expected.
