EMORY UNIVERSITY, FILM & MEDIA STUDIES

The Department of Film and Media Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position (open rank) to begin Fall Semester 2016. We are seeking a scholar whose research and teaching focuses on race, difference and contemporary media culture. We are particularly interested in candidates who examine television and new and emerging media through the lens of social and cultural identity, technological and industrial changes, and/or shifts in consumption practices and habits.

The candidate will be expected to introduce new courses that complement our thriving film and media studies undergraduate and graduate curricula. Preferences will be given to candidates who can teach our existing core courses and who demonstrate a dedication to building our growing program, as well as interdisciplinary relationships with other programs and departments across campus.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. at time of appointment and must demonstrate or show promise of innovative scholarship. They must also provide evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably over a period of at least two years. Please provide a cover letter of application and your CV at the position application site:
