FILM AND MEDIA PRODUCTION, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

DEADLINE: October 24, 2014

THE DEPARTMENT OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS IN THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES AT CLAYTON STATE UNIVERSITY seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Media Production to begin in August 2015.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
• A doctorate or M.F.A. in moving-image production or related field
• Successful college-level teaching experience at the undergraduate level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Industry experience with hands-on media production
• Ability to teach courses in areas such as post-production, broadcasting, and/or new media

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teach a variety of courses in the Communication and Media Studies program, relating to, but not limited to, film production.
• Engage in scholarly activity leading to presentation and publication and/or juried artistic creations
• Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community

The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and will begin in August 2015. Salary will be commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable programs.
