Position Overview	Victoria University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer  
or Senior Lecturer in the Media Studies programme.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to the development of the  
programme’s postgraduate studies, contribute actively to the research  
culture of the programme, and teach in the existing range of courses  
at undergraduate level, including first-year.

A primary expertise in one or more of the following areas is  
desirable: new media, media industries and institutions, and media  
policy.

The appointee will have a PhD in media studies or a related field. At  
Lecturer level, candidates will be new researchers with evidence of an  
emerging research profile and a record of successful teaching. At  
Senior Lecturer level, candidates will need to demonstrate a strong  
record of publication and be recognised within the international  
research community, have been responsible for supervision of  
postgraduate students to completion (MA and PhD), and have a record of  
administrative leadership.

Candidates are requested to submit a copy of a recent publication up  
to a maximum of 20 pages and provide a short statement of no more than  
400 words saying why they have chosen this publication to represent  
their research.
