Hi Miriam,
There was an instance of this in the Wildlife documentary The Ballad of Big Al: A Walking with Dinosaurs Special, in which the CGI created young dinosaur drips saliva on the lens of a camera supposedly embedded in the landscape, no doubt to different effect than the Saving Private Ryan instance.
