The Screen Cultures Program at Northwestern University is hosting a symposium on May 21 and 22 that might be of interest to a number of list members. The event is free and open to the public, so please consider joining us.

Medium to Medium 2010

The Center for Screen Cultures and the Alice Kaplan Center for the Humanities, WCAS are proud to present "Medium to Medium," a symposium to be held May 20-22, 2010 at Northwestern University. The symposium will address issues of media convergence from a historical perspective and across an array of media and media contexts. We are interested both in current digital media, but also in the longer history of media transition and convergences among media technologies, cultures, aesthetics, and industries. The symposium provides a comparative historical perspective for medium transition, convergence, and change

Keynote Speakers include:
Susan Douglas (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)
Amelie Hastie (Amherst College)
Erica Robles (New York University)
Fred Turner (Stanford University)
