I just got back from Cuba to finalize Cuba Education Tours programs for 2010. It was terrific. I didn't want to come home.

Check out our tours for teachers at http://CubaFriends.com

All the Cubans I met appealed to me to share their wish for you to come down and meet them. They want to introduce you to their country and explain their dreams, aspirations and projects. They feel their nation has been given less than fair treatment in the North American media. They want positive change in relations between our countries.

Island educators believe that dialogue and people-to-people encounters is the best way to establish meaningful change. They seek friendship after 50 years of separation and isolation resulting from Washington's blockade. They want exchange among teachers because they, like you, are charged with well being of the next generation.

Cuban educators have initiated a program of teacher-to-teacher diplomacy and want you to serve as an attaché on behalf of your academic community. They want you to witness their efforts to maintain free lifelong education, health care, and social and environmental programs that strengthen island communities despite current hardships. They suggest their endeavors may hold lessons for North Americans. As well they are eager to learn about teaching programs you're engaged in.

My organization works hand-in-glove with island educators from pre-school through university. We connect North American teachers directly with their island counterparts. It is our mandate. We've help thousand visit the Pearl of the Caribbean.

All Cuba Education Tours qualify for legal travel. We, and the Cuban people, want you to join with other North American teachers, experience Cuba, hear the thoughts of your professional counterparts, and compare ideas -- first-hand. We also want you to return and report your findings to your family, friends and colleagues.

Note: There are 1,000 Cuban doctors helping in Haiti now. Money foreign visitors spend on Cuba tours, hotels transportation, and other public services, goes directly into the Cuban health care and education system. Cuba guests can feel good knowing their tourist dollars help support over 20,000 Cuban doctors volunteering medical services in the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa.
