CFP: The Film Archive and Cinematic Heritage
Abstract/Proposals due December 1, 2008

The Film Archive and Cinematic Heritage chair invites papers and
presentations that explore the meanings of the film archive—both past
and present. Possible topics include film preservation/restoration,
film collecting, digital archiving, archival exhibition and film
festivals, as well as other practices of creating and maintaining
cinematic heritage not directly associated with the archive. We
welcome the participation of filmmakers, archivists, film curators,
scholars and students. Come to the sunny southwest in February!
Inquiries and/or abstracts of 250 words may be sent to Janna Jones at
the email address below. Please include a biography of 50-100 words
with your abstract. Please include your name, institutional mailing
address, home address, phone number and email.
If you wish to propose a panel of 3-4 presenters or panel discussion
of 3-6 participants, please include the panel title, name and contact
information listed above for panel chair, titles and abstracts,
contact information listed above for each presenter.

SW/TX Popular Culture &American Culture Association, please consider
submitting a proposal to another area. Once accepted presenters must
