LATE-ENTRY DEADLINE: September 1, 2008

Are you winding down your summer vacation?  Is your mind returning, for the first time in months, to thoughts of work?  Are you sighing in disappointment over missing the deadline for Film & History's 2008 Conference?
 
Well, it's not too late!!  
 
Thanks to our Late-Entry Deadline, area chairs will be allowed to accept late submissions, without penalty, through September 1, 2008 for possible inclusion in the program.  A comprehensive listing of the wide range of areas available for participation appears at the end of this message. Find the perfect area in which to present your work, today!
 
Also, don't forget to take advantage of our Summer Registration Special!  Each person who completes their online registration by August 31 (just a click away, on the Film & History website), will receive TWO years of our journal, _Film and History: An InterdisciplinaryJournal of Film and Television Studies_, FREE!
 
In addition to over 40 areas of scholarly interest represented at the conference, our featured speakers will include:
 
*  Wheeler Winston Dixon, author of Visions of the Apocalypse, Disaster and Memory, and Lost in the Fifties: Recovering Phantom Hollywood 
 
*  Sidney Perkowitz, Charles Howard Candler Professor of Physics at Emory University and author of Hollywood Science: Movies, Science, & the End of the World
 
*  And our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Roger D. Launius, Senior Curator at Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, and former Chief Historian at NASA.  
 
The conference will also include a ceremony to celebrate the transfer to its new home at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, featuring Film & History's  founder, John E. O'Connor, and former Director and Editor-in-Chief, Peter C. Rollins.
